Information we handle
Depending on the features you use, Pinown may collect or process:
- Account information: email address, authentication identifiers and account status, used to create and secure your account.
- Profile information: display name, city, optional biography, selected interests, profile photo, and profile or attendance visibility settings.
- App content and activity: event interests and attendance, connection requests, companion requests and join requests, event submissions, and actions needed to provide these features.
- Safety information: reports, blocks and moderation decisions when these tools are available and used.
- Device and advertising information: Google Mobile Ads SDK may process device identifiers, advertising identifiers, consent choices, IP address, approximate location inferred from IP, and ad interaction or diagnostic data to provide, measure and protect advertising. The exact information can depend on your device, region and consent choices.
Pinown does not ask for precise GPS location or access to your address book for its current core features. City is entered in your profile. If app features change, this policy will be updated.
How we use information
We use information to operate accounts, display profiles and activities, support discovery and connection features, store member content, respond to requests, protect the community, enforce our rules, and maintain the service. Google Mobile Ads is used to show advertising in the app; Google may use information under its own privacy terms and your consent choices.
Who receives information
Pinown uses Supabase for account authentication, database hosting and profile-photo storage. Google Mobile Ads processes data needed to serve and measure ads. These providers process information to provide their services under their own terms and privacy policies. Public profile details and content you choose to post may be visible to other Pinown members according to your settings and the feature. Links to external event or registration sites take you to those sites, which have their own privacy practices. Pinown does not control those external services.
Your choices and rights
You can edit profile details and change profile discovery or attendance visibility in the app. You can choose whether to provide optional biography and profile photo information. Advertising consent and privacy choices may be managed through the in-app ad privacy options when available. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict use of your information. Contact us to make a request.
Retention and security
We keep information for as long as needed to provide the service, operate your account, address safety issues, meet legal obligations and resolve disputes. When information is no longer needed for these purposes, it is deleted or de-identified where reasonably practicable. Some information may be retained for a limited period where required by law or needed for security, fraud prevention or legal claims. Data is transmitted using encrypted connections where supported by the service providers; no online service can guarantee absolute security.
Children’s privacy and safety
Pinown prohibits child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Read our Child Safety Standards for prohibited conduct and how to report a concern. Contact support@pinown.com with questions about a child’s information or safety.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Pinown changes. The current version and its last-updated date will be posted on this page.
